One of my test scenarios was incompletely described. It should be: 3. JavaScript is enabled, Flash is not installed or the installed Flash version is too old and the express install option is disabled. So either scenario 1 covers the Google case because Google comes in with JavaScript disabled. Or scenario 3 covers it because it reports that it doesn't have Flash. (I know that one of these is the case because Google does index my alternate content.) > In any case, Google may be able to index your swf. If the majority of > your swf is being read correctly, your solution would work even if > Google doesn't see the noscript content. I actually have not seen that. I've certainly read that Google will come read my SWFs and pull out text strings and find XML documents that are being read and index those but of the 50 or so sites I've built that read external XML documents, I have yet to see one that is being indexed like that. That's why I focus so much on the alternate content approach because at least I know it works. (I have seen all of those sites getting their alternate content indexed.) But I am only using the "noscript" approach on one site (frontalcode.com) at the moment. I think it works fine for my particular way of using SWFObject. I'm thinking my customization wouldn't work in other uses of SWFObject though. Not that it couldn't - just that I don't know how SWFObject.js is architected well enough to know what all would need to be changed. I guess I'm also wondering what would be the process to propose this idea for addition to SWFObject.js. -Mike --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SWFObject" group.
