Hi Karl, The answer for BPBible is simple: for all intents and purposes, it is currently dead (though, as Openhub shows, I did find time to make a couple of bug fixes early January). Until it supports av11n the number of modules that don't work properly with it will increase. However, I still use it almost exclusively as my Bible software (as do others I know), so it can still be considered "useful".
