Even if I should not have a say in the matter (I'm a passive reader), usually the mailing list is very important because it gives in a pull-way some generic information, but this mailing list is not so crucial, 'watch'ing the github repo is important but my weekly-passive source of information comes from the lovely weekly page in the symfony blog.
