Comment #12 on issue 4096 by [email protected]: Poly.coeff works only
after .simply().expand()
http://code.google.com/p/sympy/issues/detail?id=4096
For anyone reading this in the future:
I ended up skirting the need to expand (or use Poly) to successfully run
coeff by just using subs to (carefully) insert 1.0 and 0.0 into all the
relevant locations. The code now runs in a few **seconds**, rather than
taking a couple **hours** for the worst cases. This workaround may not work
in vastly different use cases, though it might be possible to concoct
something inserting.
