There's also the argument that if we think there's value in having an account 
-- and I assume we do -- we should encourage users to set one up (or log in and 
reap the benefits).

That might be because you're already a Firefox user on more than one platform, 
or because this might encourage you to be. Or perhaps because six months from 
now you're going to switch to a different Android phone, and will be delighted 
to find that your browsing data came with you -- no desktop involved.

Also, mobile first! :D
