I have not seen those details on this list. Did you share those details privately?
Yes. John is very helpful, we have exchanged more than 10 mails. Even though I lost another 2 days of mail, I kept silent until - while following some more steps proposed by John today - I noticed that I can make the sendmail queue losing mail like a sieve, dropping one message after the other in case the destination link is down. But no more losses: I had on purpose deactivated the destination MTA, and all mail (sent with the local 'mail' command) was queued, to be dropped after around 15 minutes from the queue with smarthost available. And *not* being delivered. As a responsible system admin, I did what I'd expect others to do: inform the peers. Be the non-delivery a local misconfiguration or a bug; it is good practice to share the information and a workaround. For the rest, just let us continue without cluttering the list, Uwe -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ sysadmin-discuss mailing list http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/sysadmin-discuss
