How to transfer data to macintosh plus without external floppy? I have
a PowerMac G3 beige and Mac IIci with high density floppy disk drives,
but I guess they're not compatible with mac plus. Is there any software
available for mac os9 that could simulate 800K floppy? Or is there
anything else?
If you don't have PhoneNet cabling available, just get a short serial
cable (mini-DIN8 to mini-DIN8). Plug your printer ports together.
Make sure that the AppleShare Chooser Extension is installed on the
Mac Plus. Enable AppleTalk file sharing on the Beige G3 or IIci.
Point both computer's AppleTalk at the Printer ports (no choice on
the Plus, I believe, but make sure AppleTalk is active).
Use the AppleShare icon in the Chooser on the Mac Plus to access the
shared hard drive on the Beige or IIci, and transfer whatever files
need transfering at a speedy 230 Kbps maximum rate. :-)
