Just connect the printer to the modem ports, and they should be fine.  The
printer is not picky about which port it uses.

AppleTalk will work over the modem port, but you need to run OpenTransport
(which comes with System 7.5 and later, and may be installed on System 7 and
later) in order to switch AppleTalk to the modem port.  It is less trouble
to just connect the printer to the modem port.
