We dropped our landline in 1998 shortly after we able to get cable internet, truly the last reason we needed the landline at the time. Back then we had AT&T TDMA and when T-Mobile (then Voicestream) was finally available in 2001 in the DFW market we happily switched. T-Mobile has been much better and we rarely have instances where we actually need a landline. We don't feel like we've sacrificed anything by being landline free for so long and recommend it for most people that don't require a landline for other purposes. We're even some things that normally require a landline can be made to use the internet these days. The only thing that requires a landline in our house is the Tivo that can also be made to use the internet connection in the house.

I am having issues with my landline (tech. support, poor quality in my building--features do not work, echoes of other people's phones on my line), that I was thinking of doing this. I currently only have a cell phone that is provided by my employer, and would get a personal one of my own (T-Mobile). I was just wondering if anyone has any pros and cons. Thanks a lot. ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Make a clean sweep of pop-up ads. Yahoo! Companion Toolbar. Now with Pop-Up Blocker.
