I've used my T-Mobile line as my only telephone service since May 2002.
Since I am only four blocks from the nearest base station I have no
problem with using my phone as far as reception. I use my phone with a
CellSocket. The CellSocket allows you to dock your mobile to a docking
station and your regular wired phones can plug into that and you can
make and answer calls through that. You just change your dialing
procedure. You pick up the handset listen for "faux" dial tone. Key
in the number followed by the # symbol to signal to the CellSocket to
"send."

Disadvantages possibly: You cannot use the cellsocket with a fax
machine or for data. 911 so far does not show your location as it does
with land line E911 services.
