Hi!

Although there are some "cons" for going 100% cellular (if something
at home needs a "normal" phone line like a FAX machine or something
like Tivo or DirecTV receivers where you use the remote to order
pay-per-view stuff - you can call their 800 number and order it, but
get a surcharge tacked on whatever you order), the "pros" can be
compelling if you have good service where you live and work.

I've gone without a home phone line since 1998 - first with Sprint
PCS (decent service at home at that time, still pretty good) but
switched to T-Mobile a little over a year ago and still no problems.
I started with a Nokia 6610, and now use a Nokia 6600. I didn't
want to play the Sprint PCS "game" of having to rent another phone -
a GSM phone, no less - should I want to travel to most foreign
countries yet have my number follow me. A multi-band GSM phone has
been very good for me, despite the high roaming charges in some
places. Much better than having to find phone cards or the proper
coins to use a pay phone in a foreign country you've just arrived
in.

I have the T-Mobile Internet (VPN option) on my service, and can
use that from home if needed. If I need to download lots of stuff,
I do it at the office and put it onto a CD or my laptop before
going home. After 8, 9, 10 hours or more of computers and servers
at the office, having Internet at home for much more than checking
e-mails and occasionally checking on the stuff in the office isn't
necessary.

The only issues with T-Mobile service locally have been in some
parts of the metropolitan area (not around my house or office).
At least there appears to be faster response from T-Mobile to
coverage issues than Sprint ever gave me in the past.

Good luck!
