<The sales rep told me that if I sign up with T-Mobile, I'd have to buy the first phone from them, the phone would be locked, and I'd also have to buy the replacement phone from them if the first one were lost or damaged> If you want prepaid - get a cheap unlocked one off eBay and get an activated pre-paid card off eBay (one that allows you to change to the local area code) - or go online - http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/phones/prepaid.aspx - they recently had a deal where you would also get a free $25 refill card.
