Cell Phones
You may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not
Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it
opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to
register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.

You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is
about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new
cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. Federal
Communications Commission regulations prohibit telemarketers from
using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers.

I copied and pasted the above from the top of the
http://www.ftc.gov/donotcall/ site. So we know there wil be a data
base which to me means telemarkets will access. If there is nothing
to worry about why set up a data base. I'm inclined to believe that
we WILL be bombarded with calls after reading this because this only
prohibits telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell
phone numbers. Nothing is said about live calls. My home land line
is on the list and still get calls from telemarketers and have
reported at least 2 and not a things has been done to stop the calls
but I will sign up on the list.
