I didn't address what it would cost on a family plan, but AFAIK to use T-Mobile service in Canada it's 49¢/minute to place local calls. If long distance is involved it's 69¢/minute. It's always 69¢/minute to receive calls in Canada. I have no idea what data costs would be in Canada whether it's the same as in the US or if it's more expensive in Canada.
