Ok but you're not sending a MP3 after you do all that. In fact you don't
even need to convert it to a MMF since the MMSC will convert the WAV to an
AMR for you. But I'm not surprises it doesn't sound good. Every time you
convert an audio file you lose some of the quality. I'd have to check but
I'd guess that a MMF is even a lower bit rate (lower bit rate = smaller
file). If the phone supports MP3 ringtones then you don't need to convert it
just rename the extension to MID to get through the MMSC. You would need to
rename it back as a MP3 once received. This ability isn't available on all
phones. Most phones probably let you rename the file but not the extension.

<OK you're only half listening to what we've told you. MP3s are NOT a
supported file format via MMS. No matter what the size, the file will always
be dropped>Matthew, on a Samsung T509 you can take an MP3, trim, convert to
wav, convert wav to mmf and RENAME it mid and when you send the email to the
phone(from your computer) the phone will not drop the attachment so you can
save in sound and select as a ringtone and for some reason it reads the name
as mmf. But if you email it to your phone with the mmf type you are right.
BUT you can't do this on the Nokia as I am finding out. Plus it's not very
good quality. DonnaB
