I have the latest firmware installed on my Pearl, and I was also
having messaging problems through the middle of last week. I called
CC, and in addition to various battery pull-resets of my Pearl, they
took me off the HLR and restarted my mail services and it had been OK
since Wednesday. I use BIS, not BES.

I also haven't had the running out of memory problems that (I think)
caused the call logs and messages to disappear) since I did the
upgrade a couple weeks ago.
