Howdy All!

Well, the Great Silkworm Experiment has been fairly successful. I'm planning
on writing up the Interesting Things I've Learned (that is, "Entertaining
Surprises the Books Didn't Mention.") into an article, but for right now, I
have a question for other tablet weavers out there -

has anyone done tablet weaving with reeled silk? I've reeled off a thousand
yards or so (guessing) and it's too fine to stand up to tablet weaving on its
own... the websites I looked at referred to "throwing" it, which sounds like
a spinning process - can I do this with a spinning wheel? Or a drop spindle?
Will just doubling it up (or quadrupling it) and reeling it through again
fix it?

Another question (and yes, I'm sending this to Ron's fiber pages as well...)
anyone have a suggestion for a good brand of dye for silk, and a source for
it? I understand it takes differently than some of the other fibers, but
don't know that much about it...

Michael
