My problem is when I'm changing tablets between the design pack and the background
pack...If the design tablets move opposite of the background tablets, at the end of two picks, the AB line will be in different places in the two packs, right?
No... all tablets must have their AB lines in the same position at the beginning and at the end of the two-pick sequence for each row (either all on the left side, or all on the right side of the tablets). They are in the opposite positions (one pack with lines on the top, and one pack with lines on the bottom) after the first pick. The design and background packs turn in opposite directions.

So, when one moves a tablet between the packs,
one has to turn it to make the AB line match up with
the new pack, or they will be all screwed up, isn't
that so?
Tablets are moved between packs when all the lines are in the same position (the beginning of the 2-pick sequence), and you do not change the AB line position when you move the tablets between packs.

Please feel free to ask follow-up questions if this is not yet clear.
