I tried to summarise all that was then known about the early history of tablet weaving, when I wrote my book, "Techniques Of Tablet Weaving", some time before 1982. You will find eight pages near the beginning of the book devoted to this... Earliest weaving, earliest tablets, earliest written evidence..... Fairly detailed. Thank you Peter. I will re-read the first chapters of TTW . I hadn't realized that warp-twined bands were not necessarily tablet woven. I should research other band weaving techniques to learn more. I have only explored tablet weaving..... Judy

To date its persistence into more recent times seems harder. Peter Collingwood -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
