Your thesis sounds fantastic!!! :-) I'd love to see a pic of your Yurt band when you get it finished. :-)

Merino-tussah blends? Did you blend your own? I'd love to spin some of that. :-)

felting.  But I'm thinking I might try tablet weaving my own version of a
yurt band at some point, though probably not quite as long as an actual
band.  I'm hoping it will make a good first project for weaving with my own
handspun.  Researching the patterns is sometimes half the fun.

I haven't spun much with anything other than wool, just some merino-tussah
blends.
