Interesting, considering:

  * there's no swenc parameter for the wl module, according to modinfo
  * grep'ing the broadcom-sta source package (6.30.223.248-3) for
    "swenc" doesn't give me any result

So I'm wondering whether it was fixed by this parameter, or rather...
by reloading the module. Can we have the full log, including kernel
logs, since boot, and including the module reload that makes it work?

It would be good to also try to rmmod + modprobe'ing the module,
without adding any parameter.
