I just wonder about how useful it is, given (presumably) the URL can be derived from the ref key. Is the idea that people would directly click on the link from the slippy map? Or is some other system going to read the URL?

Where I live in the UK, there's a similar system.  It is somewhat useful to be able to click on an OSM map around a bus stop such as https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1848349732 and query the map to get to that "browse" page, and then click through to the web page.

I also created a map style separately to osm.org that shows the web site when you zoom in, although you can't click on it.  It wouldn't need much of a server to create something like that for WA; if anyone's interested have a look at https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/SomeoneElse-vector-extract/blob/main/README.md .

Best Regards,

Andy
