I've got some major gripes about the Zoom H4. Don't get me wrong as I do
love the high quality microphones and the price tag made it a lot easier
to buy it. The major problem that I have is the fact that it is nearly
impossible to record anything without getting rubby, friction sounds
when I hold it. The second problem I've had is that when the batteries
die in the middle of a recording, your file is as good as gone. 4 hours
ain't much in the grand scheme of things. I went to a concert last
weekend and had a great time, the preformer did something he usually
doesn't do during shows and it was a jaw dropping experiance and of
course the batteries died before I got out of the theatre and there went
my file. When I got home I found a 0k file where the 4 hour concert
should have been. I tried all sorts of things to recover the file but
it's just gone! Have you had any of these problems with this recorder
and are there any techniques that you would reccomend to prevent these
problems in the future?
Thank You,
Byron
