All of the scripts scheduled to run on that machine are left minimized. Each script has built in locking logic with a global variable to prevent multiple scripts from running on top of each other.

Each script is an a unique physical file. This also allows the shortcuts to be placed in startup so if there were unexpected maintenance, etc, the scripts will run as scheduled. A service account is setup and left logged in. We use the VMware VSphere client to access. Each of the scripts writes to a remote/centralized log so I don't have to check the consoles daily, I can view the log to see what is going on. Just be aware of the multiple cpu pitfall to avoid with vmware.
