CHRISTUS Health has over 20 VM 2003 servers running approximately 1500
scripts across 12 regional HCIS's (Meditech Client Server environment).

Our network operations center monitors the scripts (which we (mostly me)
have written using a customized log file system that lets us know
when/if a script fails) and re-runs them as necessary.

We utilized a domain-level generic login account that remains logged
into the servers, no locked screen, etc.

Anyone connecting to these servers connects at the console level. This
can be accomplished any number of ways, including using the VM ware
connection, PC Anywhere, Dameware remote control, VNC, etc. I personally
use Dameware, but the NOC uses PC Anywhere and the vm console.

Subject: [talkbws] using vm servers

Hi,

We are trying to set up a VM server to run our scripts. Has anyone
successfully done this? Do you have to stay logged in to the server?
Multiple people share the duties of babysitting the scripts, so this
could be an issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,
