It is not being
updated.
Actually, XP does get updated occasionally.
At some point soon window-eyes will probably not work with it.

It Window-eyes stops working with XP, blind screen users will use a program such as NVDA which continues to work with XP because the creators of NVDA understand that a lot of people worldwide are going to stay with XP because they may not be able to afford the new technology we in the West can afford to buy. If you can afford to upgrade from XP, sure, you will be more secure and all the anti-virus program creators will tell you so.
Windows 8.1 can be maid to look like xp for the most part using clasic
shell and old new explorer. Window-eyes works wonderful with clasic shell
and old new explorer will give you the menu system back in explorer and will
work wonderful with window-eyes. You will also have access to windows 8 apps
such as facebook window-eyes works like a dream with this app for example
this means you will not need to get apps like socialize.
You will have access to windows defender as well. A much better built in
speech synthesizer the ability to refresh your system with speech if need
be. The list of advantages goes on but I think we get the idea.
As I said I don't want to start a debate, but xp is old and really should
be updated to windows 8.1 if possible.
Most systems running xp will also run windows 8.1. unless it is a really old
box. This means if you can update you really should.

Hi

Just a note on mse - I still use a xp machine, and although the end of
support notice is there, mse still works on my xp machine. The definitions
are being updated, and all still works as expected. The only thing you will
see is that the pc status will show "at risk", but I ignore that, and it is
still doing fine.
