issues.thank you.

no they shouldn't. that was not what the poster said though. She said that
they could not be run together and the only way you could do this was to
perform a manual scan. This is not true. They can run together and will
cause you problems if you do and there for you should make sure that you do
not do this. If you think though that it can never happen and they all have
protections that will prevent this you will not know to make sure to only
have one enabled at one time. So tel me where exactly you are so hardaly
disagreeing with me?
Here is the message I was responding to as you will see it is not correct.

The only way you could use two antivirus programs is to run them manually
and separately. Pam.
As you see she says the only way you could do this. Verces the only way you
should do this.

Actually this is not true. Many virus protection packages will allow you
to run them along side one another. Defender will not and if you do run
programs like this along side one another you are asking for trouble.

Hi,
Generally, it is not recommended to have two real time antivirus scanners
running as this could create conflicts as well as slowing down the computer.

OK, Just one more question if I may. Should one run Defender along with
other virus checkers, or should it be run exclusively? I just got a new
computer, and we just installed the free version of Avira, so really need to
have an answer to this question.

Please feel free to reply off list at the above address.

Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated,

Larry
