Well, I don't think that removing one key function lowers the cost that much, especially when the cost of keyboards is so low anyway. It's probably as they said. They did some kind of survey and found that folks generally don't use the numlock key. I don't think they even thought about blind folks, screen readers, etc. They should make the type of keyboard a matter of choice, and should not charge extra for a keyboard with a numlock key.
