OK, then.

Reason why I asked, is that I was into a similar issue when I tested the WE9Beta. When I unloaded WE, and then loaded NVDA, I was able to complete both my reading and bidding. Had to do so several times, through the short moment I tested WE9, and that was the first time I ever saw this kind of issue.

Have not bid on anything lately, mainly just stuck with Buy-It-Now items, where you don't have this kind of time-countdown that the user initially mentioned. As for the ads one of you mentioned, I have not had them bugging me, at least up til a week ago, when I visited EBay last time.

For all you EBay users, have you tried to go to one of the other EBay domains? If you usually is going for EBay.com, try EBay.ca, or EBay.co.uk. You log in with your standard credencials, but the different domains have a tiny bit of differences in layout. Maybe that is why some are experiencing, and others seem to be less bugged.

Personally, still on WE8.4, so cannot speak if this issue is more related to WE9. Yet, if these are ads, or otherwise trafic consuming messages, my big guess is that the mobile site of EBay will not have them, since Mobile sites often are kept less traffic-hungry. If so, go to the EBay mobile site, and log in with your normal credencials - forget about whether it is your regional EBay domain. Even when you are receiving mail links for EBay items, it is the item number that you need. Log in to the site that works for you, and search for the item number. The number is international, and will normally work cross all the domains. Or, copy the link off from your mail, open your browser and paste it into the address bar, then edit the domain part before hitting Enter. Like, edit an EBay.com link, to EBay.ca/blah/blah/1234 and so forth. I do that all the time, as I like the layout of the Canadian EBay domain the better. Seems to be less full of ads, and a bit more tidy for screen reading. Well, matter of personal preference.

All of this, just some tips. But for you who experience things like this, if you have the chance, try NVDA, try Firefox, and try different EBay domains.

According to someone I know that uses NVDA and Ebay full time, the answer is
yes. Especially the hours and days counting down. They said they don't even
bid anymore because it's annoying.

Hi,

I don't have much experience with Ebay, but yesterday signed into an
account to see what would happen.

Window-eyes was speaking advertisements to me. I think these are AREA
live events that Ebay is telling Window-eyes to speak.

I also used a chromebook to sign into Ebay with Chrome and Chromevox,
effectively taking Window-eyes out of the picture.
ChromeVox announced the same ads over and over again. Using Chrome
and ChromeVox on the chromeBook, I couldn't even navigate the site.
Each time I moved focus, speech would interrupt and an ad or something
would be announced.
It was annoying to say the least and on the Chromebook I couldn't even
sign out of the Ebay account.

Note: when I used Window-eyes I didn't tab through the site, I used
browse mode navigation, the latest Firefox Windows 8.1 and an internal
build post 9.1 of Window-eyes.

Ebay users may need to contact Ebay and have them not fire so many
live events. Amazon is starting to do the same all though it isn't as
bad.

Hope this helps,
Chris

The only problem I had was the first time I tried to go to the site, it
said a message from our sponsors and that would not go away, second
time, I was able to sign in and WE behaved more or less -- the page is
not well designed, but I did manage.

Hi Net Bat i usually have no problems with ebay.
And now this week after i sign in We just keeps saying over and over

selecting.
My Wife can see and she said the screen looked okay so she just
clicked ebay on with the mouse and We behaved its self after that
until i sign in again.
And this is happening to my laptop and brand new desktop both running
win 8.1
So it sounds like the curser may be on some part of the screen witch
may be my problem.
Cheers michael.

the latest WE does seem to have a lot of issues with ebay lately, I have
said about a couple of them here myself, and really hope the next update
will properly fix them, as at the moment, my NVDA, which was supposed to
only be a backup for those times that WE decided not to talk to me, is
proving better at working with ebay than WE, which is a shame!
