This may well be the reason I've always hated Notepad, and why I always try to make far more use of MS Word. I have no trouble in wird setting up the described responses with the Home and End cursoring keys. In word, the Cursoring key adjustments are set up so that when I press the home key on any line in the document, I hear the first letter on that line, and when I press the End key, I likewise hear the last character of the current line.
In Notepad, however, the Home key works in that same manner, but pressing the End key yields no sound at all, and that's regardless of the selected "First Action" setting, which is the #3 of the 20 or so possible selections, and which matches the setting in Word. The Second Action" response is also set to "Undefined". The cursoring key settings are all "global". Even if I try setting the first action setting for the End key to "say line", I still hear nothing. Any good ideas out there about what I might have done? I'd like to make better use of Notepad, because Word is so rich in disruptable settings that can force you to spend hours tracking down problems with formatting.
