Thank you, Chris! That last method was simple enough for me to get through it, and it works!! Nor is it dependent upon screen maximization. But sadly, I now find that editing text in Outlook 2013 has changed. For instance, when I delete a character, instead of hearing the character being deleted, I'm hearing the character to the left of the deleted character; very strange. Guess I'll be back when I know a bit more about the behavior.Hope I don't have to reset all my setfiles and try again. What a pain!

Another list member sent a workaround that seems to work. Change the first action to execute hot key and for its option select mouse to focus. Change the second action to execute hot key and for its option select mouse previous character. Make sure you only change it in the notepad set and not globally. That worked for me when I tested it this morning. In Notepad, under "format", do you have word wrap checked or unchecked? I use Notepad all of the time, with word wrap checked. After I press the home key, or the end key, I usually use the right and left arrow keys to confirm the first and last characters...
