Another way is to just set first action to execute hot key and set its action
to character prior.
This will also work and your only working with one action instead of two.

Hi,
This seems to be an issue in notepad. Another list member sent a workaround
that seems to work.
Change the first action to execute hot key and for its option select mouse to
focus. Change the second action to execute hot key and for its option select
mouse previous character.
Make sure you only change it in the notepad set and not globally.

That worked for me when I tested it this morning.

I have a document up in Notepad, Wrap is checked, and the window is
maximized. Still no joy. Pressing the end key yields silence. As I said
before, "First Action" for the end key is set on the third selection or
option, as it is when MS Word is up and running. What else might be wrong?

Hi.

In Notepad, under "format", do you have word wrap checked or unchecked?

I use Notepad all of the time, with word wrap checked.

After I press the home key, or the end key, I usually use the right and left
arrow keys to confirm the first and last characters...
