Hi: It happens with IE and with Firefox.
Just now I was on the Yahoo Finance site in Firefox.
I tried the ctl-alt-f to perform a search and the page locked up.
It came back about a minute later and I tabbed down the page and hit the
down arrow keys a few times to move away from wherever I was on the page. I
tried the search again and it locked up again.
When it came back I was in some, think WindowEyes, window with a list of
think radio buttons where I could select if I wanted to sort on things like
bookmarks, links and other things.
I could not close this window to get back to the page.
Alt tabbing around did no good the selection window kept coming up and I
couldn't get out of it even by hitting ctl-f4 or alt-f4 etc...
Now, I tried hitting ctl-alt t but WE just said "t" none of the keys like
ctl-alt -w etc were working. It appeared WE was not respecting the hot key
combinations.
This action makes me think the script that handles such things was not
getting the information but still windoweyes was able to speak so it was
getting at least the keyboard letter keys.
I tried the insert-alt-w hot key but only heard "w" again not getting the
WindowEyes hot keys to fire further reenforcing my thought that this was a
WindowEyes problem and likely with a script.
The initial lockup was like so many others, no speech, no keyboard inputs
including trying to fire up narrator but, at least, it did come back after
about 60 seconds again indicating WindowEyes was waiting for something and
after that all the loss of the hot keys and that weird selection page which
I never got before but thought worth mentioning in case one of the
WindowEyes guys has any idea if these things may be related.
Note there is some unusual controls on the yahoo site like an envelope link
and a search box near the top which may, or not, be dynamic since I never
use these things and try to just tab past them to avoid the flash error
message from locking things up - if you get the flash error you can usually
just tab past it so long as you do it quickly but not too quickly.
In the end I just Rebooted the computer and the world is talking to me
again.

For me, the problem is associated with IE 11.

I have some sighted friends who tell me that they have problems with IE
11 stopping working. So it may not all be just the screen reader.
