I can tell you guys with absolute certainty that what AI squared is asking for is not unheard of, in fact it's the standard. I've been a beta tester for several tech companies over the years and this is absolutely the norm. Lets think about this for a second...when you're in the windows environment, there are tons and tons of programs running, and processes that run in the background, and any of them could cause another program to crash. We know Window-eyes is crashing on a particular system but we don't know why. That's where we the users come in, and have to provide as much information as we can. Error reporting can help too, but if it's a problem on a specific machine, things get to be a bitmore complex. You can't just expect the AI squared guys to know everything. i mean they're pretty good but not *that* good. So lets help them make Window-eyes as good as it can possibly be.

Don't know what you mean. They are asking you to let them know if a certain problem is specific to WE or if it also happens with another screen reader. Providing all information will help them narrow down the cause of the problem.

So if the problem happens with other screen readers that is why WE
doesn't do it either. What happen to WE being the best screen reader?

Hello Vic,
In order for Ai Squared to improve the stability of Window-Eyes, we need
your help and the help of others in the Window-Eyes community. We can only fix problems that we know about and can reproduce. So, with all due respect,
let me respond to your plea with one of my own. Please submit any
reproducible issues that you find so we can investigate them and if possible implement a solution. When submitting an issue, please provide the following
details:
1. Description of problem
2. Computing environment: operating system version and architecture (32 or
64 bit), Window-Eyes version and synthesizer
3. Exact steps to duplicate the problem (including web page address if
applicable)
4. Expected results
5. Current results
6. Any additional comments (e.g. does this issue happen with other screen
readers, can you duplicate it reliably, etc.)
Thanks,
Marc

Subject: Plea for an WE Patch

Greetings

It is said that the measure of a person or organisation is how they behave
when things don't go right. After all this is when people are paying
attention.

This is my shameless plea begging for a patch from AI Square or GW Micro
to
address some of the issues WE is having. When one types Window-Eyes in
Google the first GW Micro page that comes up has the following line:

"Window-Eyes is nothing less than the most stable, secure and customizable
screen reader available on the market today."

In my experience this is no longer the case. I realise that there are
processes and procedures companies must follow when implementing updates
or
changes. These processes and procedures should be there to support the
business; they should not drive the business.

Yes Windows ten is around the corner. Not all of us will be jumping on
this
new OS right away. Until then anything that can reduce the number of
issues
by at least fifty percent will make using Window-Eyes a more positive
experience for those of us who continue to experience loss of speech, WE
deciding to stop running etc.

Vic
