Hi I have A question for you Jim about the dectalk 32 for window-eyes.
When using it how do do you set it up when using it.
When you adjust your speech volume it doesn't adjust the rest of your sound volume on your computer?
Cause that is what i get when I use it.
I would only like to be able to adjust the volume of the window-eyes speech when I use that speech and not the window-eyes volume n the rest of the computer sounds as well.
So how can this be done?

Sorry this software speech is awful. Not sure what they did to the good old
relyable dectalk, but it sounds like it is speaking with some sort of
strange accent. I will stick with dectalk access 32 for window-eyes.

yes, the sapi5 decTalk is excellent and I plan to buy sapi5 eloquence within
the next two weeks.

Maybe they do josh this is open for debate. How-ever this software
is still owned buy human ware and how much control over it and what
they are able to do with it is also open to question. As if memery
serve me this software was actually not created buy human ware but
buy l&h. as we all know l&h is long gone. Scansoft bought most of
its holdings when they went
out. If
this is so who ever worked with this would have to work closely with
human ware and who ever it is who hold the software. Probably
nuance.
As I said before I would rather have a useable sapi 5 version of the
dectalk. No that software is not useable. That is dectalk 5.0 and
it sounds awful.
It is to bad that the voices you buy for window-eyes can not also
support sapi 5. I kind of resent the idea that voices have to be
bought for each screen reader. The unlock program was cool. You
could run it as a service it would see that you have a key for that
software and unlock it.
Not only
for use with what ever screen reader but for the whole system. If a
sapi support was also available you could use it where ever you
wanted.
This is what I would love to see.

Dectalk for android would also be nice.

My dad takes apart old cars. those cars were made by companies. He
has stuff from the 60s from high school that he saved, takes that
stuff apart.
And
that is not illegal. So what is illegal about taking apart an old
synthesizer that nobody uses? clearly our software licensing and
laws need serious changing!

Josh why would code factory do keynote. Human ware owns this

I am not sure what they can do about this.
I am sorry josh but with my hearing problems I would rather see a
useable version of dectalk maid for sapi 5. If it was done for
android I would jump on that to.

you unzip it with 7zip which is free and then go into the sapi5
folder and
run setup follow the prompts and install it that way then switch
to it in NVDA synthesizer dialog using microsoft speech API 5.

just some sample programs to make it talk in case you don't
have a screen reader and some development documents that you don't
need.

Thanks. I downloaded and installed it, but Window-eyes crashes
most times when I switch to those SAPI 5 Dectalk voices. What
else was bundled there?
