I too continue to experience repeated crashes and Speech going away. using the Short Cut to re start WE rarely works. Almost always, I need to do a hard Re start.
I have attempted to clean up old Set files, but so far, this has not reduced the rate of failure. On my system, it does seem as if I type too fast, I can cause WE to go quiet. If I wait 20, 30, 60 seconds, sometimes speech will return on its own. I do not have the Keyboard speaking characters or words. Am using Win 7 64 bit, and Word 2010, as well as I.E. 11. Navigating some web sites is very difficult.
