i built mine myself. with a gigabyte i 5 quad core with 8gb of memory, useing
the on board audio and the video is the c p u itself.
i always lose speech when i open the bookmark list in firefox 38 esr? i have to
turn off autoload and browse mode first then it will still talk. if i do not
close the bookmark list after this w e will aventually lose speech and i have
to wait for about 1 minute to see if speech will return and then close the
bookmark list to keep w e going.
i have lost speech with wlm 2012 if i have either firefox or i e 11 windows 7
64bit and i alt tab from the browser back to wlm. the only way i can regain
focus is to use restore from the ribbon then maximize the screen again. then
speech will return.
i don't lose speech with firefox if i use narrator or nvda.

I have no doubt that it is a Windows Explorer issue. With Windows 10, it
doesn't seem to happen as much.

Hello Everyone
recently, I had an RNIB tech volunteer at my home. He kept commenting
that Windows Explorer was stopping. This seemed to coincide with
speech loss. He mentioned this four or five times in half an hour and
was extremely surprised to see it happening so frequently.
I have also lost speech with Ie 11 and very recently, I have returned
to the computer to find that speech is no longer working even though I
haven't used the computer for a couple of hours. Sleep mode is turned
off along with any other settings which might cause the machine to be
unable to respond as soon as I touch the keyboard.
Probably none of this will be of any help in identifying the problem
but speech loss seems to be getting more and more frequent.
I am using Win7 64 home premium with WE 9.2.
Mike.
