part of this is the way you have windows options setup.
but if you open the apps list and go to this pc you can open a context menu and
send it to the desktop
also i think the windows default is to hide empty drives. so if you don't have
a cd in the drive it will not show in this pc.
if you can find folder options these settings would be in there.
try searching for folder options. i am not on windows 10 right now.

I seem to be unable to find my drives on this pc. I know there is a cd/dvd
