no you don't, if you know your way around windows.
try searching for folder options. i am not on windows 10 now to try a
search.
there is a setting in folder options. there is a list of options to hide or
unhide file extentions and empty drives.
when the cd drive is empty it will not show in the list unless you uncheck
the
option to hide empty drives or leve a cd in the drive.

I don't know if you have some sighted help but in order to do this procedure
you need to use some inaccessible software. I forgot how I found this out
but
it is a common windows 10 error. Do a google search for "windows 10 error
code:
19". You'll find an article on how to fix the error. The inaccessible
software
I mentioned is something called drivereasy and will find the latest drivers
you
need and install them for you. You may not have to use the software. See if
you
can find the article.

I seem to be unable to find my drives on this pc. I know there is a cd/dvd
drive but I can’t find it anywhere in any of the apps list ;or anything. In
windows 8 there was a item in the start menu “this pc”??
