I get this same verbosity but only if I linger a second over the icon. Doesn't 
bother me but can't see any way to stop it. Have you contacted WE support?

  If you have read tooltips set to off, then obviously that is not the
  problem.  I wonder if you have your desktop set so you only use down
  arrows and all the shortcuts are in a single line?  If so, you could
  switch to listview and you would not get the date/time.  That would be
  under  the view pulldown on the ribbon under folder options, if memory
  serves.
