Hi, As I understand it, this is just a bug that some of us lucky ones have. It's extremely annoying, but I presume it will be fixed. If you paid for your Window-Eyes, then you can call and talk to them. I've not used classic shell, but I think this problem is a question of Window-Eyes not being able to hook into the start menu, or not, smile. Narrator works, since there's nothing wrong with the start menu. I also have a problem with Window-Eyes sometimes not seeing the Windows 10 calculator. Narrator reads it beautifully though. I don't yet have the Anniversary edition of Windows 10, so perhaps this will fix the problem, assuming it could be on Microsoft's end. Did you upgrade your computer from Windows 7? There seem to be more problems that Window-Eyes can't control for, for those of us who have a Windows 7 upgrade. Hi, There hasn’t been any change in my problem. After about 9 minutes of the computer being idle, Window-Eyes no longer reads the start menu. However, narrator picks it up. This all started when I installed version 9.5.3. I hope that a solution will be found. I have to restart Window-Eyes in order to read the start menu. Thanks for any help you can give.
