Not enough competition. Am I hearing "monoply"? I don't like the
current fact that you're allowed so many copies per license. And if your
computer crashes, too bad for you. With Window-Eyes, didn't have to
worry about that.
In any event, guess we'll have to wait and see. On the other hand, if
they want more customers, they have to do something damn good to woo
those of us who use Window-Eyes and want a fair deal down the
road.--Matthew Chao

There are 2 approaches:
One is to combine WindowEyes into JAWS or just get rid of WindowEyes and
market jaws as the only really professional screen reader available to
government, educational institutes and industry or; To improve jaws or
WindowEyes or both, and market them as seperat programs for sale to someone.
My guess, 50, 50 at best, is they will eliminate WindowEyes and use the fact
that someone who buys jaws and the supporting programs will absolutely
dominate the market and sell the final product at a nice profit.
That is unless there is a blind person at that company who wants to make
their company the final owner of such a product - some special interest
overriding any profit they may pick up selling it.
Everything is still up in the air but your description of the audios is not
encouraging if you are a WindowEyes owner and user and especially for those
of us using the Office 365 versions.
Anyway, it is what it is I guess so just be ready to switch if one day
WindowEyes suddenly goes away.
New management may not even notify us of the impending change - who knows
and there are no alternatives anyway.

Subject: The future of Window-eyes
Hello Window-Eyes users. Sky here. I wanted to update you guys on What's
been happening at VFO Group, Particuarly in regards to Zoomtext, and
Window-eyes. In September, 2 editions of FSCast came out regarding JAWS 18.
One of the features that will be in JAWS 18 will be a talking mouse support.
The guys at VFO group has said that They have plans to put the talking mouse
support in Zoomtext, and make JAWS work with it. This made me laugh, as
first of all, Zoomtext already has Window-eyes in it, called Fusion,
secondly, Zoomtext, from my understanding, already has built in mouse
support already with Fusion. No menschen of Window-eyes or even Fusion. In
the next FSCast, VFO went into more details on JAWS 18 and Zoomtext. What is
going to happen is that in Zoomtext 11, JAWS and Zoomtext will be working
together. I can honestly tell you that they also plan to put in a talking
mouse support for MAGic, which will be released in 2017. This is not a good
sign, and besides, Zoomtext and JAWS, would cost a lot more to buy, than it
would cost to buy Zoomtext Fusion. At no point in the two FSCasts do they
menschen what's going to happen with Window-eyes.
If you guys would like to take a look at the two FSCasts, go to

I also want to hear what the senior management from AI Squared have to say
on the future.
