yep. I'm thinking of just getting an inexpensive windows laptop because
really i just use it for microsoft office, some email, and audio games.
sometimes i download videos and convert them to mp3 files but that's not
often and i can just let the computer sit there and convert them while i
do something else on my android phone or tablet or tv.

Hi Josh,
And, initially, I had been trying to make a small point that one need
not move right away from Windows to another traditionalcomputer, like
the Mac.
Rather, the point is that it is the data or the task that is most
important, say, email or browsing, and that there are many means of
accessing them.
Finally, as you and I agree, one need not break the bank in order to
find accessible solutions.
All the best,
Rod

yes you're right. But really iPhones and android devices can do a lot
of the same stuff. So therefore we both have pretty powerful
solutions. Just goes to show, you don't need a full blown pc to do a
lot of the day to day computer stuff that we do with our devices
anymore. right?

Hi Josh,
Sounds like a truly elegant and powerful solution you have there.
The thing is, I have all the gadgets I need.
I was simply trumpeting the gadget I have since I have come to see
its power in my and my wife's life, and it's so much a part of our
lives now, along with our iPhones, that it makes perfect sense to
just wallow in the Apple oasis. (smile)
Thanks again, and enjoy,
Rod

hi rod,
have you also considered the RCA galileo pro for $80 from walmart
or the
walmart online store or app? if you can't or don't want to spend the
$200 to $300 for an ipod touch and bluetooth keyboard, why not get a
good android 2-in-1 like the RCA galileo pro, install brailleback and
soft braille keyboard and off you go. the sound is a bit tinny its
speaker isn't stereo but it works fine and when you use with wired or
bluetooth speakers or headphones the sound is great. and talkback is a
very good screen reader and thanks to all the feedback I've been
giving
their developers I hope it'll get much much better.
