Hi Some more feedback on the issue. I found another computer in one of the other classes - this one has WE 9.5.3 installed (still). The problem here is the same but with the addition (and something I did not test with the others) of not reading the content of a word document - it does read the line if you move the mouse over it but not if you use the keyboard. So the problem seems to be a focus issue - WE does not react to the keyboard placing focus (cursor) on the icons or lines, if you use the mouse it works just fine. I have reloaded the Explorer.set and all other modified sets - there is only one profile. The problem remains the same.
Hi Thanks to everyone for the support on this matter. What I ended up doing was to install WE 9.4 on the workstations that had the problem reading the Desktop Icons. What is still puzzling me is that there are 5 of the 10 workstations that work just fine with WE 9.5.4 I will now that the pressure to get it to work, look into the settings for those workstations and see if I can find out where it went off the rails. If I find a solution I will post it to the list.
