I do need to apologize. You don’t actually have to download the DAISY books if
you don’t want to. They are designed to install into the default JAWS folder,
and they don’t give you a lot of indications as to where they’re going. I
think these are the files JAWS downloads if you use FS reader to install the
downloadable training materials. Instead, you might want a set of mp3 files.
Here’s how to get those:

On the JAWS training downloads page, if you navigate by headings, you will
first hit a heading for DAISY books for JAWS. The next heading is for the mp3
versions. They are in plain .zip files. And, 2 files you might want to listen
to from that section are the getting started files. They are not in the DAISY
section. They cover the installation of JAWS and a few other things. They are
intended for those who install from the DVD, but, the install from DVD is not
too different from the downloadable install. Here are direct links to those
files:

Sorry I didn’t include those earlier.

Oh, one more thing. These are full DAISY text and audio. The mp3’s are in
each subfolder under C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\Training

Are there audio versions? I was able to download a bok as an experiment but it
was only text. I find I learn these types of things better if I have audio, and
I remember when I got my first ever copy of JFW the set of training tapes that
came with them.

Focus your powers and prepare for buttle.

Hi Joseph,

I did as you stated, but I could not download the files. Also, I could not
access anything from the links. The only file was the very first one, getting
started.
