Listers,
This is kind of a stupid situation for one to fine one's self in, but it can happen so easily I'm afraid.
I was trying some shortcuts on my desktop that were linked to different USB drives, or at least the letters pertaining there too when a shortcut that didn't lead to a connected drive came up. What happens when that happens is that you get what appears to be an error message (it isn't spoken) telling you the drive isn't present, but when you use the ctrl-shift-t to read the title, it says File Explorer. I'm sure that that is all well and good. The problem is that I cannot find a way to close that box without closing File Explorer. Problem is, when you do that, you loose not only the dern box, but a whole lot of access to your PC as well. Heck, you can't even shut down using alt-F4. You can't even just log out and log back in again.
What I wish to know is how to reopen File Explorer without having to completely power down the machine in order to get things back to normal.
I really would like to know how to go about closing that box, so that such drastic action wouldn't even have to be contemplated <smile>.
This is one that I've been intending to ask for years, but thank God the situation doesn't arise all that often.
