Firstly, please note I've amended the subject line, please folks, I've
preached about this multiple times, subject lines such as, "major problem,"
what does this on Earth mean, a volcano has irrupted, an earthquake, come on
now. this is neither a major problem nor anything like it.

Bernard the subject line should have read:

problem with Nokia (insert model) access points with Telstra.

In answer to your actual problem Bernard, it is far more likely that these
access points are hard coded into the Telstra FW of the phone, meaning that
you cannot get rid of them in the traditional way. the only thing you could
do is change the region code of your phone to prevent it from launching as a
Telstra FW version of that phone, then do a fresh install of the FW from
Nokia. With the region code changed the phone will not have those AP's.

NOTE, this is a complex task and not to be undertaken without comprehensive
instructions and technical knowhow. I suspect that Stephen Giggar or alike
will be able to furnish you with the exact instructions.

Please though, that is an off topic conversation, so if you decide to do it,
please talk with Stephen off list.

Thanks.

Bernard

Just a thought! If you get a new handset or you try a format! Leave the Sim
card out in either case. This away when the phone comes up initially after
the format with no sim in it or it is a brand new phone with no sim in it.
Then install Talks with no Sim in it. Then try setting up your WiFi access
point and see if it works with no Sim ever being in the phone. This away it
is hoped that there will be no access point in the phone at all when
starting out.

If this works with Talks with no sim ever being in the phone! Then put the
sim in the phone and power it up. When you get the messages from telstra
Cancel out of them with SoftKey2, do not accept them. Then go into your
inbox on the phone and delete the messages! Do not open them.

Now try again with using your access point with Talks and see what happens.

Good luck!
