I think I can answer your question; no they are not the same. Taterbug
Specials are mades with a tortoise shell substitute called Tortis; a
material used by Red Bear Trading; the maker of the picks. Gilchrists
I'm pretty sure are made out of classic celluloid; tha same material
as ProPlecs, Fenders etc...

Can you even buy Gilchrist picks anywhere?
