I remember reading an interview with Southside Johnny, a New Jersey shore R&B singer years ago where he was talking about how he hated singing in the studio because he kept having to go back and do parts over because he was flat. He said "who cares about shit like that when you're singing?" I always thought that was pretty funny, but also telling- it's the soul that really matters... Now that's not to say I don't think you're technically proficient Mike- seems to me you're plenty proficient in that area. But it's that something else you do that really draws me in. When I think of guitar players, I guess Yngwie Malmsteen is technically proficient, but I don't care for what he plays. Billy Gibbons on the other hand- I could listen to him wail on 4-5 notes all night.
