It's confusing for people to have more than 1 way to start it - we
used to have a JAR in the top level directory as well, some people
double-clicked this, which kind of worked, but didn't set the right
JVM options.

It also gets more difficult to support when there's more than 1 way to
start the program.

I don't understand - why would the BAT file help?  It still would not
run! :-) It would be less helpful than the EXE..

If this happens (which is precisely I tested this, I uninstalled
Java), the .EXE would again detect that Java is not installed and tell
you what to do - if Java is there it would simply start Taverna.


(But I see the case for DEVELOPERS to have the BAT file, yes.. as they
can then play with parameters.. we also have the issue of changing the
memory size - so we could include the BAT file in a subdirectory)
